The Rose James Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to some worthy and deserving undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at Andrews University who meets the following qualifications:
- Applicants must submit a written essay on one of the following areas: 1) social justice from a Biblical/Adventist perspective; 2) worship, character development, health, or lifestyle in the black Adventist church; or, 3) Ellen G. White’s writings regarding racism, “the Southern work,” and “the colored people.”
- Applicants must write their essay in English.
- Work proposed must be in the humanities or interpretive social sciences.
- The essay length must be between 6,000 and 8,000 words.
- The Center for Adventist Research will publish the essay of the recipient.
- The annual recipient will be selected by three representatives from Andrews University.
All applications must be received by September 30.
