Rose James Endowed Scholarship

The Rose James Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to some worthy and deserving undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at Andrews University who meets the following qualifications:

  1. Applicants must submit a written essay on one of the following areas: 1) social justice from a Biblical/Adventist perspective; 2) worship, character development, health, or lifestyle in the black Adventist church; or, 3) Ellen G. White’s writings regarding racism, “the Southern work,” and “the colored people.”
  2. Applicants must write their essay in English.
  3. Work proposed must be in the humanities or interpretive social sciences.
  4. The essay length must be between 6,000 and 8,000 words.
  5. The Center for Adventist Research will publish the essay of the recipient.
  6. The annual recipient will be selected by three representatives from Andrews University.

All applications must be received by September 30.
