Accounting AssistantTEMPO Employment Services is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the daily financial operations of a local business in Presque Isle. This position is ideal for someone with accounting or bookkeeping experience who enjoys working with numbers, keeping accurate records, and helping ensure financial information is up to date. The Accounting Assistant will help with journal entries, account reconciliations, data entry, and other general accounting duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working with financial information, and able to stay organized while handling multiple tasks.Responsibilities:Enter financial information accurately into accounting systemsPrepare and record journal entriesReconcile accounts and investigate discrepanciesReview financial records for accuracy and completenessAssist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as neededMaintain organized financial records and documentationAssist with month-end accounting tasks and reportsEnter and update data in spreadsheets and accounting softwareHelp identify and correct errors in financial recordsMaintain confidentiality when handling financial informationAssist with other accounting and administrative duties as neededQualifications:Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferredFamiliarity with journal entries and account reconciliationsExperience with data entry and maintaining accurate financial recordsComfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood organizational and time-management skillsAbility to identify discrepancies and solve problemsAble to work independently and as part of a teamDependable and able to manage time effectivelyStrong written and verbal communication skillsAccounting education or relevant coursework is a plusApplicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
