Description:The peopleof Kalgar, China, and the officers of the North China Railroad provided a beautiful white marble monument in honor of Dr. Coulston, erecting the same on a select spot on the Sanitarium grounds. The Chinese characters composing the inscription shown on the shaft are inlaid in gold. As translated by a native Chinaman of Battle Creek, we have the following: Elmer F. Coulston,M.D., born in the United States, Los Angeles, California, October 24,1905 and died in May 26, 1934, 28 years old, in Rockerfeller Foundation Hospital, Peiking, China
