Description:Jennifer Paxton (center), seventh grader at Andrews University Elementary Junior High in Berrien Springs, accepts a first place state award of $10 for her entry in an essay competition sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution. At the state level, her paper on How My State Acquired Its Name was judged best among 53 written by seventh graders throughout Michigan. Each entry at the state level had already placed first in paper has been forwarded to regional competition, where it will be judged with papers from four other states. Making the state award presentation above is Mrs. Evelyn Wirth of New troy, the DAR's state chairman for American History Month. At right is Mrs. Rhoda Wills, English teacher at Andrews University Elementary Junior High
