Description: | A resume of 19th century knowledge pertaining to world history is portrayed in the 23-foot long chronological chart presented to Andrews University by Mrs. Jacquelyn Shaknis VanderLoon (left) and Mrs. June Shaknis Tewksbury. Accepting the gift, that was to be stored in the Heritage Room of the James White Library, is Dr. Joseph G. Smoot (right), vice president for academic affairs. The chart was published in New York in 1883. It was donated to AU by the two women in honor of their parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Shaknis, to whom it had been given some years ago by a returned missionary from China. Mrs. VanderLoon is from Grand Rapids; Mrs. Tewksbury resides in Troy.
