Title:Home of George and Martha Amadon in Battle Creek, where John Byington lived the last few years of his life
Description:The photo does match the historic photo in the Willard Library collection of 19 Hill Street, Battle Creek, MI. John Byington's farm was a few miles south of Battle Creek in Newton Township, but in the 1884 city directory he is listed as living with Amadons on the “north side of Hill St., 2 west of Grant.” Hill Street no longer exists by that name in Battle Creek - it is now called East Manchester St. The 1873 Calhoun county atlas shows G. Amadon living on the north side of Hill St., in the second house west of Grant. The house was very recently removed [2015].
