Title: | Seventh-day Adventist church in Nashville, Tennessee |
Description: | This is a historical Adventist church in Nashville. Edson White did not want to go into debt to buy this church at Fifth and Fatherland Streets and quoted his mother, Ellen White, on the subject. He had founded Southen Publishing Association, and the workers did not like worshiping in a second floor chapel there. Around 1905, Ellen White had a vision showing the church should obtain this building and asked Elder Daniells to contribute $5,000 out of a $100,000 fund for this purpose. They did this, and Adventists worshiped here until building the Nashville 1st SDA Church in the early 1950's. This church was originally built shortly after the Civil War |
